Datapath names Helfgott CEO

The board of directors of Datapath Inc., a satellite and wireless communications network company, has appointed David Helfgott as its chief executive officer.

The board of directors of Datapath Inc., a satellite and wireless communications network company, has appointed David Helfgott as its chief executive officer.

Helfgott has served as president and chief operating officer since joining the company in 2006. He succeeds Tom Dyer as CEO. Dyer, in turn, will serve as executive chairman of the board of directors.

Helfgott will now serve as president, CEO and a member of the company's board of directors.

Datapath has deployed networks to transmit voice, video and data including classified and unclassified information, for the Army, Marine Corps and Air Force. To this end, the company provided specialized satellite communications capabilities for a key battlefield network known as the Joint Network Node.

Datapath ranks No. 47 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
