SE Solutions hires Barry West

Barry West, a former federal agency chief information officer who recently ended a 25-year government career, has joined Strategic Enterprise Solutions Inc. as executive vice president.

Known as SE Solutions, the Reston, Va., company provides management consulting services and technology solutions to a variety of government customers. West will focus on enterprise architecture, strategic planning and performance management. He also will work on electronic government and the lines-of-business initiatives, information technology security and other emerging areas of government IT.

West ended his government career as CIO at the Commerce Department. He held similar positions at the National Weather Service and Federal Emergency Management Agency. West also worked at the Census Bureau, National Technical Information Service and the General Services Administration.

At SE Solutions, West joins a leadership team that includes John Rothenberger, the company's chief executive officer and founder, and Paul Taltavull, chief operating officer.

"Barry's 25 years of government experience and technical expertise combined with his management and leadership capabilities will help take the company to the next level," Rothenberger said.
