Data Computer picked for Medicare work

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has chosen a small Maryland company to provide technology services for the agency.

Data Computer Corp. of America, based in Ellicott City, Md., will provide the services for the agency's Medicaid and State Operations center. The contract is worth about $8.7 million over five years, according the company.

The long-term objective of the program is to aid users of the systems as they move from older technologies to modern systems, said David Bower, DCCA's president and chief operating officer.

The company has provided services for CMS for nearly 20 years, he said. The new contract covers program management, systems analysis and development and operations and maintenance support. The work pertains to the agency's Online Survey, Certification and Reporting system and its Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment system, among others.
