BAE names Gatti homeland security v.p.

BAE Systems Inc. has named John Gatti as vice president of homeland security responsible for establishing and profitably growing the company's position in that key sector of government business.

Gatti came to BAE through the acquisition earlier this year of Armor Holdings Inc., a Jacksonville, Fla., company that produces military vehicles and products for warfighters.

Gatti previously was Armor's senior vice president and chief technology officer, responsible for leading the engineering and technology business. He also was a member of Armor's executive committee with responsibility for driving cross-company integration, overseeing technology strategy and research and development budgets and evaluating companies under consideration for purchase.

Before joining Armor Holdings, Gatti worked for nearly 20 years at Raytheon Co. He holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Norwich University and a master of science in systems design and management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
