Veritas Capital Partners, a private equity firm targeting the defense, government services and aerospace sectors, has named Mark Ronald, formerly with BAE Systems Inc., as special adviser to the firm.
Ronald's responsibilities at New York-based Veritas will include evaluating potential acquisitions and investments. In addition, he will work closely with Veritas' portfolio management teams to increase value.
As chairman and chief executive officer of BAE Systems, Ronald oversaw the North American unit of BAE Systems plc of London. He also served as chief operating officer and member of the board of directors of the parent company.
Ronald's marching orders are to help Veritas continue to build on its solid portfolio of companies with a combined total of 25,000 employees and annual revenue of $4 billion, said Robert McKeon, Veritas founder and CEO.
"In addition to his board positions as well as other activities, Mark will be spending approximately a third of his time working with Veritas," McKeon said.
