Pacific Command technical work goes to BAE

BAE Systems Inc. has won a new four-year, $25.8 million contract from the Navy to continue providing technical support for computing and telecommunications facilities in the Pacific region.

Under the terms of the recompeted contract, BAE will handle technical aspects associated with operating and maintaining the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific (NCTMAS PAC) facilities in Hawaii.

The work covers facilities in Oahu and other communications sites throughout Hawaii, BAE said. The company has supported the customer since 2002.

NCTMAS PAC supports command and control efforts of the Defense and Homeland Security departments, civil law enforcement and allies in the Pacific theater and Indian Ocean. The station oversees multiple telecommunications services for various Pacific commands.

BAE Systems of Rockville, Md., ranks No. 15 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
