Lockheed gets AF simulations deal

Lockheed Martin Corp. won a $45.9 million contract extension to support training simulators for Air Force crews and maintenance personnel for C-130 aircraft.

Lockheed Martin of Bethesda, Md., was awarded the original training contract in 1999, which had a one-year base and nine extension options. This is the eighth extension, the company said.

Under the extension, Lockheed Martin will continue to support the training devices and curriculum and will make several modifications.

The training will be delivered at the Little Rock Air Force Base, which is the headquarters for C-130 training, and several other Air Force bases, as well as in several international learning centers.

Lockheed Martin ranks No. 1 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
