LGS gets pair of Army network upgrades

LGS will upgrade voice and data networks at Patch Barracks, Kelley Barracks and Panzer Kaserne, the company said. The company also will install a voice-over-IP network at the Stuttgart Army Airfield.

The Army is undertaking the upgrades to ensure a seamless interface with existing networks and to provide extensive security and business continuity.

The work at the three installations is part of an ongoing contract for infrastructure modernization, which seeks to establish integrated, secure communications systems at Army installations.

Stuttgart is the capital of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg and the sixth largest city in Germany.

LGS, of Vienna, Va., is a unit of Alcatel-Lucent of Paris.
