CSC to upgrade DOD accounting systems

Computer Sciences Corp. will replace current Defense Department accounting systems with an Oracle-based system under a new contract worth up to $100 million over six years.

Under the terms of the contract, CSC will deliver a standards-based solution that complies with the Office of Federal Financial Management.

The initiative across multiple defense agencies will enable DOD's Business Transformation Agency to collect and analyze financial data more accurately, which will result in more timely decision-making, James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC's North American Public Sector business unit, said in a news release.

Business Transformation Agency's mission is to guide the transformation of business operations throughout the DOD.
