Chenega to upgrade DOD computing

Chenega Federal Systems Inc. has won a Defense Department contract to provide specialized telecommunications and related services to the department's High Performance Computing Modernization Program Office. The five-year award has a potential value of $65 million.

The program office provides specialized computing and high-speed network services that enable DOD laboratories and test centers to conduct advanced technological research. The office has aided the development of numerous weapons systems, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, the Joint Strike Fighter and the Javelin Missile program.

Under terms of the contract, CFS will team with Instrumental Inc., a high-performance computing professional services company and Chenega Technology Services Corp. to provide the program office with administrative, high-performance program management, telecommunications and other related services.

Founded in 2005 in Lorton, Va., Chenega Federal Systems provides a broad range of engineering, military and technological services to the federal defense and intelligence sectors.
