CACI International Inc. continues to expand its footprint in the federal intelligence arena with the purchase of Dragon Development Corp., a provider of professional, technical and engineering services to the intelligence community.

DDC's services will further expand CACI's capabilities as a solutions provider for the intelligence community, said Bill Fairl, CACI's president of U.S. operations.

DDC's core business areas are systems and software engineering; operations research and systems analysis; advanced research and development support; and program, business and acquisition management. The Columbia, Md., company has more than 75 employees, virtually all of whom hold high-level top secret clearances.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. Earlier this week, CACI announced the purchase of Athena Innovative Solutions Inc., a provider of specialized services to the intelligence community and other national security clients. Athena of Arlington, Va., has about 600 full-time employees.

CACI, also based in Arlington, Va., ranks No. 22 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
