Avineon to support information security at Mint
Avineon Inc. has won new contract from the U.S. Mint to provide functional and technical engineering information security services.
Avineon Inc. has won a $10.9 million contract from the U.S. Mint to provide functional and technical engineering information security services.
The Mint depends on a number of information technology systems and networks to maintain trade and commerce in the United States. To perform its statutory mission, the agency must also continually ensure the security of all its systems, Avineon said.
Under terms of the five-year contract, Avineon will be responsible for the security of all Mint IT systems, applications, databases, servers and network components.
The Alexandria, Va., company will also provide certification and accreditation for all the Mint's IT systems and offer technical analyses of its security architecture initiatives.
Avineon, a provider of information technology, geospatial and program management services, has provided information security support to the Mint for more than five years.
