QinetiQ scores Army contract

QinetiQ North America has won a $35.8 million, five-year contract with the U.S. Army to continue its work at the Army Research and Technology Protection Center.

The contract is with the security and intelligence business unit of QinetiQ North America's Mission Solutions Group

The group will provide research and technology protection expertise and support to research and engineering centers and acquisition programs throughout the Army.

The Army first awarded the contract to QinetiQ in 2002, requiring the company to establish and operate the center under the Army's oversight. Over the past five years, the company has helped with process development and helped build a model for planning and executing technology protection of sensitive defense programs. The Army re-competed the contract this summer.

QinetiQ North America is based in McLean, Va.
