Northrop Grumman Corp. will continue to provide logistical support to the Army's National Training Center and Fort Irwin, Calif., under a new $331 million Army contract.
The cost-plus-award-fee contract is for one base year and four option years and covers annual programmed training, multiple joint services training exercises and other support requirements.
The Los Angeles-based contractor has provided logistical support services to the National Training Center and Fort Irwin since 2001.
Fort Irwin is located in California's Mojave Desert, halfway between Las Vegas, Nev., and Los Angeles. It is home to about 14,000 soldiers, family members, contractors and civilians. Brigade-size combat teams, ranging from 4,000 to 6,000 soldiers, go to the National Training Center from all parts of the country to take part in tough, realistic and challenging force-on-force and live-fire training.
Northrop Grumman Corp. ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
