The Naval Undersea Warfare Center has awarded two contracts that could be worth a combined total of $36.7 million to Purvis Systems Inc.
Under the larger of the two contracts, Purvis will provide operational, technical and engineering services for the Fleet Installation and Facility Management branch of the Undersea Combat Systems Department. That contract alone bears about $35 million of the total possible value.
The other contract calls for program management and engineering services in support of NUWC's Ranges, Engineering and Analysis Department. It could be worth up to $1.7 million. NUWC is a unit of the Naval Sea Systems Command.
Purvis, based in Middletown, R.I., has worked on contracts for NUWC since 1973. The longstanding partnership "would not be possible if not for our deep understanding of the technology operations and procedures of the U.S. Navy," said Jack Heller, Purvis's vice president of operations.
