ACS wins D.C. Medicaid renewal
Affiliated Computer Services has won an $111 million contract renewal from Washington, D.C., to continue operating the city's Medicaid management information system.
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a seven-year, $111 million contract renewal from Washington, D.C., to continue operating the city's Medicaid management information system.
Under the terms of the contract, ACS of Dallas will make significant enhancements to the existing system and continue processing Medicaid claims on behalf of the city.
The enhancements will address Web security and reporting, clinical case management, surveillance and utilization review, management and administration reporting and other requirements.
The company also will provide a thin-client architecture and improve server and database management capabilities.
ACS has served as Washington's Medicaid fiscal agent since February 2001, and the company received certification from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services for the city's current MMIS system in 2004.
ACS ranks No. 58 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
