Vista goes west to San Antonio

Vista Technology Services Inc. is opening an office in Texas to extend its reach to military bases in the West. The Herndon, Va., company specializes in decision support analytics technology.

The Texas office, in San Antonio, will open Sept. 1, according to Vista. The company has created a new position, management director, to run the office under the guidance of Larry Lincoln, the company's chief operating officer. The management director has not been chosen yet, but the company is in the final stages of recruiting for it.

"Opening an office in San Antonio is the next logical step in building VISTA's military business," said David Baxa, the company's president and chief executive officer. A prime reason of that is the Army's plan to move its Installation Management Command from Arlington, Va., to Fort Sam Houston, which will happen soon.

"Maintaining an office nearby ensures that we have access to headquarters-level business as well as taking advantage of regional and garrison level access for installations in the west and southwest," Baxa said. The San Antonio office will also be close to Air Force programs, he added.
