MicroTech, EDS partner on Social Security award

MicroTech LLC and EDS Corp. have partnered on a five-year information technology services contract with the Social Security Administration worth up to $80 million.

As the subcontractor, EDS can earn $12.6 million on an engineering support services contract that calls for network management, systems integration and engineering, telecommunications and hardware/software support.

MicroTech and EDS will provide a wide array of high-end technology services including mainframe systems engineering and administration, distributed systems engineering and administration, telecommunications support, Internet application support and security management.

MicroTech of Vienna, Va., is a service-disabled, veteran-owned 8(a) small business that provides IT services, resale contract management and consulting to federal, state and local government agencies. This award represents the largest single contract ever awarded by Social Security to a service-disabled, veteran-owned 8(a) small business.

EDS of Plano, Texas, ranks No. 10 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
