Datapath wins Centcom satellite terminal deal

DataPath Inc. will provide field services through a contract for a network of 32 satellite earth terminals for the U.S. Central Command in Southwest Asia.

DataPath Inc. will provide field services through a $7.8 million contract for a network of 32 satellite earth terminals for the U.S. Central Command in Southwest Asia.

Under the delivery order, 69 DataPath field service representatives will provide operations and maintenance services for the DataPath Deployable Ku Band Earth Terminals for an initial six-month base period. The agreement provides the option for additional six-month awards to be made in the following three years. With all options exercised, the total value of the program could exceed $50 million.

The contracting authority is the Communications-Electronics Command in Fort Monmouth, N.J. Program manager WIN-T's Commercial SATCOM Terminal program awarded the delivery order through the Worldwide Satellite Systems contract.

In addition to the Deployable Ku Band Earth Terminals network, Duluth, Ga.-based DataPath specializes in designing, installing and managing other communications networks, such as the Army's Joint Network Node and the Marines' Support Wide Area Network.
