Alion Science and Technology Corp. has acquired LogConGroup Inc., a provider of logistics technologies, program management and identification technologies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
LogConGroup's automatic identification technology capabilities encompasses active radio frequency identification networking and logistics inventory tracking systems for the Defense Department and commercial business markets.
The acquisition of the Davenport, Iowa, company will extend Alion's capabilities and presence in the high value asset and identification and tracking market, said Rick Meidenbauer, Alion's Spectrum Engineering Group Manager.
"Our RFID, sensor and wireless capabilities are well-established, so this is a logical step for Alion," he said. "LogConGroup's ability to track Class V munitions and other high-value military and commercial assets mesh well with ours, so we can support and help expand their current work with the resources of a much larger innovator."
Alion of McLean, Va., ranks No. 79 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
