TCS gets new Army satellite deal

TeleCommunication Systems Inc. has won a $2.6 million contract from the Army to provide satellite depot-level spares and test, measurement and diagnostic equipment.

The contract is an order under the Army's World-Wide Satellite Systems vehicle, a multiple award contract announced in 2006 and worth up to $5 billion.

TCS of Annapolis, Md., will do the work for the project manager of the Defense Communications and Army Transmission System team at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

The equipment is for Defense Satellite Communication System Earth terminals and the DSCS Frequency Control System. It will support both initial requirements and then longer term needs for the DSCS systems.

The World-Wide Satellite Systems program is jointly managed by PM DCATS and the Program Management Warfighter Information Network-Tactical Joint Program Management Office.
