SRA names new directors to lead federal business
SRA International Inc., announced the promotion of Timothy Atkin, vice president and deputy director of SRA's civil sector, and John Gilligan, vice president and deputy director of the defense sector.
SRA International Inc., announced the promotion of Timothy Atkin, vice president and deputy director of SRA's civil sector, and John Gilligan, vice president and deputy director of the defense sector.
As senior vice president and director of the civil sector, Atkin will continue to develop and manage SRA's civilian government business, which includes management consulting, program management and information technology solutions. He also directed the company's homeland security and critical infrastructure protection programs.
Before joining SRA in 1999, Atkin was a member of the federal Senior Executive Service, serving as chief of staff to the deputy secretary of the Labor Department. He also was a director at the National Security Council and served as an officer in the Coast Guard.
Gilligan is now senior vice president and director of the defense sector. He will lead the company's work with the Defense Department, its agencies, the armed services and their installations.
Before joining SRA in 2005, Gilligan had a 24-year federal career during which he held a number of senior positions, most recently as the chief information officer of the Air Force.
SRA of Fairfax, Va., has 4,900 employees and had $484.7 million in revenue in 2006. The company ranks No. 33 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
