SI International completes Logtec acquisition

SI International Inc. has completed the purchase of Logtec Inc., a company that provides information technology, logistics and support with a specialty in weapons and information systems. The acquisition fits into SI's goals of broadening its customer base and expanding its range of mission critical solutions.

SI, based in Reston, Va., paid $59 million in cash for Logtec, based in Fairborn, Ohio.

Logtec's largest customers include the Air Force Material Command and Naval Systems Air Command. It has about 350 employees, half with security clearances. Its 2006 revenues totaled about $54 million, with 83 percent coming from Air Force contracts, SI officials said.

"Logtec has built a solid reputation of delivering creative solutions and substantial value to the Defense Department. By combining the ingenuity, creativity and commitment of SI International and Logtec employees, we will be able to deliver expanded services to our existing customers and offer compelling solutions to new customers," said Brad Antle, SI's president and chief executive officer.

With 2006 revenues at nearly $462 million, SI placed No. 42 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
