BearingPoint gets Kentucky retirement modernization

BearingPoint Inc. will provide its pension administration solution to the Kentucky Retirement Systems under a new three-year, $18 million project.

BearingPoint of McLean, Va., will modernize Kentucky's existing pension administration system, and will include design, development, implementation, testing, training and data conversion from the state's legacy system. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2010.

Kentucky's current pension administration system is failing to meet growing demands from the ever-increasing retirement of baby boomers in the state.

BearingPoint's pension administration solution will modernize the state's technology, make it easier to serve a larger membership base, provide access to account data via the Web for members, retirees and employers, and allow for future growth.

The new system will leverage BearingPoint's pension administration solution, which is based on Microsoft's .NET architecture and integrated with FileNet imaging and workflow technologies. This mix of technologies will allow Kentucky Retirement Systems to better manage workload and online access to member documents going forward.

BearingPoint has 17,000 employees and ranks No. 24 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
