AT&T nets DISA contract extension

AT&T Government Solutions will continue managing a global videoconferencing system for DOD under a contract extension that the Defense Information Systems Agency awarded.

AT&T Government Solutions will continue managing a global videoconferencing system for the Defense Department under a six-month, $11.5 contract extension that the Defense Information Systems Agency awarded.

All branches of the military use the videoconferencing system. It links military commanders together to confer on decision-making. The system supports more than 5,000 units around the world.

AT&T will provide network management services, and other services such as configuration, installation and inventory management.

AT&T developed the system and has operated it for more than a decade. It includes four network hubs in the United States, one in Germany and one in Kuwait.
