Apogen buys 3H Technology

Apogen Technologies Inc., a unit of QinetiQ North America Operations LLC, has bought 3H Technology LLC, a provider of software development and business process management services.

Terms of the sale call for Apogen of McLean, Va., to pay as much as $52 million for 3H Technology, according to media reports.

The acquisition is designed to expand QNA's footprint in the federal market, the U.K.-based company said, through 3H Technology's client relationships with the Navy, Army, General Services Administration and Homeland Security, Health and Human Services and Treasury departments.

3H Technology of Reston, Va., will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Apogen, part of QNA's IT Services Group, and it will retain its brand, employees and facilities.

Founded in 1997, 3H Technology has 220 employees and specializes in networking, software development, program management and process improvement services to federal agencies and the commercial sector.

The company is the latest in a series of QNA acquisitions over the past three years that include Analex Corp., Apogen Technologies, Foster-Miller, Inc., ITS Corp., Planning Systems Inc. and Westar Aerospace and Defense Group.

QinetiQ North America ranks No. 45 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
