URS gets National Guard aircraft support work

URS Corp. has won a contract potentially worth $148 million from the Air Force to provide logistics support services for Army and Air National Guard aircraft. The six-month contract has nine option years.

Under the contract, URS' EG&G division will supply maintenance and repair services for 11 Air National Guard RC-26B aircraft and 11 Army National Guard C-26 aircraft, including servicing the aircraft intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems. The San Francisco company will perform the work at 20 sites in the United States.

EG&G was acquired by URS in August 2002. Among its federal clients are NASA and the Defense, Energy and Homeland Security departments.

URS offers a wide range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance to federal, state and local agencies, as well as operations and maintenance services for homeland security and defense systems.

URS has about 29,500 employees and ranks No. 32 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest government prime contractors.
