Stanley to build Marine Corps logistics system

Stanley Inc. will supply the Marine Corps with a logistics information system under a $26.6 million contract awarded to the company.

The contract is to provide support services for the common Logistics Command and Control System. Stanley is teaming with IR Technologies and Tapestry Solutions Inc. on the project.

The system is a tactical Web-enabled logistics information management system that provides the Marine Air Ground Task Force Commander with planning, executing and tasking capabilities. It also provides tactical logistics situational awareness of the battlefield.

The system delivers near real-time asset visibility, asset management capabilities, decision support tool sets and integrated request management in a distributed, mobile environment. It operates on the Marine Corps' tactical communications infrastructure and provides logistics data by means of integration with other legacy data systems.

Stanley of Arlington, Va., has 2,800 employees and had revenue of $284.8 million in 2006. The company ranks No. 58 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors. The 2007 Top 100 list is due out May 14.
