Maximus tackles case management for Chicago schools

Maximus Inc. will deliver a special education case management system to Chicago Public Schools through a two-year, $5.4 million contract.

Under the contract, Maximus of Reston, Va., will provide a Web-based solution that will enable Chicago's teachers and special education system providers to prepare fully compliant individual education programs. The Chicago Board of Education awarded the contract.

The project, which is expected to be completed by May 2008, is a part of a multiyear
implementation for the city's Impact project for the Chicago Public Schools' that includes the installation of a student information system, as well as a curriculum and instruction management system.

The case management system will enable Chicago Public Schools' staff to collect, analyze and report student achievement data to improve student performance and develop reports and communications for parents, teachers, administrators and school board members.

Maximus' TIENET special education case management system is used by other school systems in Arizona, California, Florida, Maryland and New Jersey.

Maximus provides program management, consulting and information technology services to the public sector. The company has 5,200 employees and had annual sales of $701 million in 2006.
