Maximus grabs Alabama asset deal

Maximus will perform appraisals of structures covered by the Alabama State Insurance Fund and aggregate the data gathered through a new contract.

Maximus Inc. will perform appraisals of structures covered by the Alabama State Insurance Fund and aggregate the data gathered through a newly awarded contract.

Under the two-year, $1.6 million contract, Maximus of Reston, Va., will appraise 11,000 structures for the State Insurance Fund. The appraisals will be used to establish an opinion of insurable replacement cost value and will provide adequate proof-of-loss documentation and meet underwriting requirements.

The services provided by Maximus will include the appraisal of the individual structures and recording of certain information specific to the state's Risk Management Division. The company also will convert the data and upload it to the state's risk management system.

Further, Maximus will assist the state in providing updated values for all structures covered by the State Insurance Fund over the next three years.

Maximus provides program management, consulting and information technology services. The company has 5,200 employees and had annual revenue of $701 million in 2006.
