Tyler Technologies won a contract worth about $5 million from Orange County, Fla., to provide software to manage court cases.

Under the contract, Tyler of Dallas will furnish the county's Clerk of Courts with its Web-based Odyssey Case Management solution.

The software will manage all case types, from civil, criminal and juvenile to family, domestic violence and mental health. The solution, which includes electronic document management for all court documents filed in such cases, also manages judicial assignment and scheduling.

As part of the project, Tyler will tie the Odyssey system to various other state and local justice systems.

Last year Orange County processed more than 450,000 new cases, docketed more than 6.5 million in files and managed about 47 million file pages.

With a population of more than 1 million, Orange County is the fifth largest county in the Sunshine State. The county seat is Orlando.
