SAIC lands $394M Pacific Air Forces deal

Science Applications International Corp. will deliver engineering and technical support services to the U.S. Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, under a contract worth up to $394 million over five years.

Under the contract, SAIC will support systems for PACAF command, control, computers, intelligence, war gaming and force protection. It will perform the work primarily in Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, Japan and Korea.

PACAF is one of the nine major U.S. Air Force divisions and one of only two outside the continental United States. Its area of operations extends from the west coast of the United States to the east coast of Africa. PACAF is headquartered at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

SAIC of San Diego has more than 44,000 employees and had annual sales of $8.3 billion for the fiscal year that ended Jan. 31, 2007. The company ranks No. 3 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
