CSC unveils $1.2B in federal tech contracts

Computer Sciences Corp.'s Federal Sector business unit signed 62 previously unannounced information technology contracts and subcontracts during its fiscal 2007 fourth quarter, which ended March 30.

The performance periods range from three months to eight years, and the contracts have a total estimated value of $1.28 billion if all options are exercised, CSC said.

Civilian agencies accounted for 28 of the awards with a total value of about $811 million. The remaining 34 awards, worth about $474 million, came from various components of the Defense Department.

The contracts call for CSC to provide a wide range of IT services, including analysis, systems integration and modernization. The contracts also involve consulting, engineering, outsourcing, training, and maintenance and logistics support.

Clients include the intelligence community, military services, the Missile Defense Agency, the Health and Human Services and State departments, and the Environmental Protection Agency.

CSC of El Segundo, Calif., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
