EDS brings GSA's Sindelar onboard

John Sindelar, the General Services Administration's senior adviser to the administrator and a long-time federal IT manager, is heading to EDS Corp.

Sindelar, who announced he was retiring from government in November, said he will be a client industry executive working in EDS' global government industry program.

His last day at GSA will be Feb. 2; he will start at EDS March 15.

"I will be providing strategic consulting at all levels of federal, state and local and international governments," he said. "I will be working on projects related to the IT world, e-government and shared services?similar to the kind of things I'm working on now. EDS is a good fit and I'm excited for this opportunity."

Sindelar has been with GSA for 26 years, and with the government for 33 years, including the last 12 months as GSA's acting associate administrator, taking over for Marty Wagner. Wagner, who also is retiring, now is deputy commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service.

After GSA administrator Lurita Doan decided to make the OGP associate administrator position political, Sindelar decided it was time to move on.

Over the past month, he has been working on GSA's strategic plan required by Congress. He has been working closely with senior management as members of the GSA Strategic Planning Working Group.
