CACI wins Air Force operations center deal

CACI International Inc. won a five-year, $24 million contract from the Pacific Air Forces 15th Contracting Squadron to continue providing command and control services.

Under the contract, CACI of Arlington, Va., will support the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) 13th Air Force's newly established Air and Space Operations Center's Air Mobility Division. The center coordinates Air Force command and control functions around the world and covers multiple areas of operation.

The contract win expands the size and scope of CACI's PACAF work and supports CACI's command and control and logistics areas of business, the company said. The new award continues a six-year relationship with the customer.

CACI and its teammates will provide PACAF with a wide range of command and control services, ranging from program management and IT support to serving as a virtual crewmember to the units assigned to PACAF. These services help reduce the number of hours that flight crews must dedicate to flight planning preparation and allow them to focus more on strategic combat and support missions throughout the Pacific region, according to the company.

CACI has about 10,200 employees and annual sales of $1.7 billion in 2006. The company ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
