Advanced Technology Systems tapped by Nashville for police records management

Advanced Technology Systems Inc. will install an advanced records management system for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department through a 14-month, $4.4 million contract.

Under the contract, ATS of McLean, Va., will develop an information system that captures, maintains and analyzes information about police agency and incident-related events. This information includes everything from investigations and case management to criminal history and court case preparation and appearances.

Advanced Technology Systems will provide the Nashville Police Department with the interagency Internet portal and message brokering application software and lead a team that includes four subcontractors.

Denali Solutions will furnish the records management system, Patron Systems Inc. will supply the automated field reporting system, Omega Group will handle the geographic information systems crime reporting and DataWorks Plus will provide the Web-based mug shots capture and retrieval systems.

Advanced Technology Systems' public safety solutions division will perform the work. Once finished, the system will serve more than 80 regional agencies, the company said.

The privately held company has about 900 employees.
