Texas County calls up Tyler for court management

Tyler Technologies Inc. won a $2.2 million contract with Denton County, Texas, to install the company's Odyssey court case management system and other professional services.

Odyssey is Tyler's next generation Web-based court management solution for the state and local government market. The Dallas company is a provider of end-to-end information management solutions and services for local governments.

Denton County is a member of the Texas Conference of Urban Counties and will adopt the Odyssey system under a $12.4 million software license agreement signed earlier this year between Tyler and the Urban Counties.

Denton County, which is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, has a population of more than 550,000, and is the ninth-largest county in Texas. The county includes the cities of Denton and Lewisville, and is home to the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University.

"Odyssey has an intuitive user interface, scalability and built-in redundancy, making it more efficient for internal and external users and providing improved access for the public," said Denton County Commissioner Sandy Jacobs in a statement from the company announcing the deal.
