VA turns to Four Points, InterSystems for database help

Four Points Technology LLC won a contract with the Veterans Affairs Department to provide database software for the agency's health record system. The enterprise software and maintenance services contract is worth $31.4 million.
Four Points Technology will provide InterSystems Corps' CACHÉ post-relational database as part of the project. A database provider in health care, InterSystems develops the CACHÉ post-relational database, Ensemble rapid integration software and HealthShare health information exchange platform.
"The VA wanted to utilize our CACHÉ database product and top-tier support in a manner that allows the VA to have direct access to InterSystems," said Paul Grabscheid, InterSystems vice president of strategic planning.
Four Points' partnership with InterSystems will enable the VA's VistA electronic health record system, said David Gilchrist, president of Four Points Technology.
Four Points Technology is based in Herndon, Va. InterSystems is in Cambridge, Mass.
