STG nets VA public key infrastructure deal

The Reston, Va., company will provide helpdesk, IT and operations support related to public key infrastructure to the department. The total contract value is $2.5 million.
STG's partner on the project is SygnaCom Solutions Inc., McLean, Va., a provider of information security consulting and testing services.
Public key infrastructure is a system that uses digital certifications embedded with public and private encryption keys to identify and authenticate an individual to other individuals as well as to computer software systems, portals and networks.
STG offers IT, technical security, and engineering and scientific services to civilian and defense agencies.
The privately held company ranks No. 59 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
