CACI to help Army improve battle systems logistics

CACI International Inc. won a three-year, $38 million task order contract to assist the Army Directorate for Readiness' Force Modernization Division with logistics for battle systems.

Under the contract, CACI of Arlington, Va., will supply technical program and project management support and contribute to every aspect of logistics for the command and control, communications, computers, intelligence, sensors and reconnaissance systems developed at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

CACI will help field new systems and train users, make certain that system supplies are of the correct amount and type, and deliver cost-effective property accountability and asset management.

The company also will help maintain all of the systems to ensure that older ones are updated with new technologies.

The Army awarded the task order through the Strategic Services Sourcing contract. The Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command at Fort Monmouth awarded the contract to CACI and six other companies in March.

CACI, which has about 10,100 employees and had fiscal 2005 revenue of $1.6 billion, ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
