Under the Virtual Data Center contract, Perot Systems of Plano, Texas, will build a single computing environment for hosting and processing Federal Student Aid's delivery systems. These systems help deliver $78 billion in postsecondary student financial aid each year.
Perot Systems, which has more than 18,000 employees and posted 2005 revenue of $2 billion, ranks No. 44 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
Perot Systems' government services subsidiary, which provides consulting, technology solutions and program management support to the federal government, accounted for 14 percent of the company's total revenue last year.
