Mcfadden ships out for USAID mission support
Macfadden and Associates Inc. won an $80 million contract from the U.S. Agency for International Development to deliver professional support services to improve democracy programs and international disaster and humanitarian relief efforts.
Macfadden and Associates Inc. won an $80 million contract from the U.S. Agency for International Development to deliver professional support services to improve democracy programs and international disaster and humanitarian relief efforts.
The professional services company will render institutional and operational support to the agency's Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance.
Under the contract, which will run through 2011, Macfadden will help negotiate and administer grants and interagency agreements, recruitment and administration of personnel services contracts, field program and information support and staff training for major international relief efforts. Macfadden has supported USAID since 1993.
The bureau coordinates USAID's democracy programs, international disaster assistance, emergency and developmental food aid and aid to manage and mitigate conflict and volunteer programs. It also provides support in developing policy and programs for countries emerging from crises and administers disaster assistance.
Macfadden of Silver Spring, Md., offers integrated IT solutions and program management office support services to both government and commercial clients. Its other federal customers are the State Department, the Peace Corps, Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Aviation Administration.
