ICF Caliber helps HHS watch over child care

The Health and Human Services Department will call on ICF Caliber Inc. to help it improve the quality, affordability and availability of child care for families across the United States.

Under a five-year, $20 million contract, ICF Caliber will oversee a child care clearinghouse that will include a virtual library with a variety of publications.

The company also will furnish technical assistance for state and territory child care and development fund grantees and other early care and education organizations.

In addition, the company is charged with establishing partnerships with other early education programs and developing presentations for conferences.

The Office of Family Assistance within HHS' Administration for Children and Families awarded the National Child Care Information and Technical Assistance Center contract to ICF.

ICF Caliber is the consulting division of ICF International Inc., Fairfax, Va. The parent company, which has about 1,600 employees and had fiscal 2005 revenue of $177 million, offers consulting services and technology solutions to the defense, energy, environment, homeland security, social programs and transportation markets.
