DOD re-ups CACI for acquisition management support

CACI International Inc. will continue its support of a Web-based suite of applications that replaces the Defense Department's legacy acquisition reporting system under a newly won prime contract.

The new contract with the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics increases the size and scope of CACI's effort for the program. The seven and one-half month contract could be worth up to $13 million if all three one-year options are exercised.

The Defense Acquisition Management Information Retrieval system, or DAMIR, gives the Defense Department a Web-based tool for managing and overseeing acquisitions of major weapon and information systems.

DAMIR is a suite of applications that replaces the Defense Department's legacy reporting system with more effective tools for managing cost, schedule and performance of acquisition programs. It gives managers at all levels access to accurate, timely, shared information and further enhances the oversight process with search and analytical tools.

DAMIR can share data with systems across the military services and can be accessed by Congress, the Government Accountability Office, and the Office of Management and Budget for insight into defense acquisition.

CACI, which has about 10,450 employees and had annual revenue of more than $1.6 billion for fiscal 2005, ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
