Ciber nets Agriculture Department IV&V work

Under the $1.7 million contract, Ciber of Denver will furnish ongoing review and analysis of the agency's re-engineering program. Based on these analyses, the company will make recommendations to the agency's CIO for process and technological improvements.
Agriculture's Risk Management Agency develops and maintains crop insurance programs sold through private insurance companies to farmers throughout the United States. The agency currently is involved in a major re-engineering of its entire IT infrastructure to take advantage of new technology developments.
The agency provides about 1.2 million insurance policies to farmers throughout the nation, insuring 246 million acres of farmland and managing more than $44 billion in insurance liabilities.
Ciber offers systems integration and consulting services to the government and commercial sectors. The company has 8,000 employees and annual sales of about $1 billion.
