Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a one-year, $3.7 million contract extension from the Colorado Department of Healthcare Policy and Financing to continue helping administer the state's child health care program.

Terms of the contract call for ACS of Dallas to assist enrollment of uninsured children into the Child Health Plan Plus program. Among ACS' duties will be to furnish multilingual call center services to citizens and service providers who need translated information about the application and eligibility process.

The company also will administer program applications, determine eligibility and collect premium payments. ACS also will manage complaints and appeals, handle correspondence and operate the program's Web portal.

The Child Health Plan Plus program offers health care to children through 18 years of age in families with incomes at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. More than 40,000 children are currently enrolled in the state's program, the company said.

ACS, which offers IT and business processing outsourcing services, has about 55,000 employees and had annual revenue of $5.3 billion in fiscal 2006.

The company ranks No. 48 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
