Business Plus catches Air Force operations support work

Business Plus Corp. won a five-year contract from the Air Force to support the Air Combat Command, Air Operations Squadron at Langley Air Force Base.

Business Plus Corp. won a five-year contract from the Air Force to support the Air Combat Command, Air Operations Squadron at Langley Air Force Base.

Under the contract, Business Plus of Hampton, Va., will provide all management, supervision and personnel for the command's mission control center. The contract is valued at about $5 million.

The center serves as the command and control function for all fighter and bomber aircraft deliveries and reports to the Air Operations Squadron commander. Contractor personnel who work in the mission control center enter information on deployment, refueling support, weather criteria and other matters concerning aircraft operations.

BPC will perform the work at Langley Air Force Base, Va. Lockheed Martin Corp. is a subcontractor.

BPC is a unit of American Systems Corp. of Chantilly, Va. The privately held, employee-owned parent company has more than 1,500 employees and had 2005 revenue of $275 million.
