Balutis leaves Input

Alan Balutis resigned today as president of Input Inc.'s government strategies group.

In an e-mail to friends and colleagues, Balutis said he was leaving the Reston, Va., market research firm to pursue other opportunities.

"I have enjoyed my time here; it is a vibrant and dynamic firm," he said in the e-mail.

Balutis has been "a valued leader and good friend to the company," said Input spokeswoman Amanda Morgan. He joined the company in early 2005.

The company has not named a replacement, but sales and member services will continue to managed by Wayne Adams, an executive vice president, and research operations will be led by Kevin Plexico, also an Input executive vice president, Morgan said.

Balutis spent 27 years in government, holding senior management, budget, finance, planning and IT positions in the Commerce Department and in what is now the Health and Human Services Department.

He also is former president and chief operating officer of Veridyne Inc. of Broomall, Pa. Previously, Balutis served as executive director of what is now known as the American Council of Technology and the Industry Advisory Council.
