USIS to assist OPM with background checks
The Office of Personnel Management tapped U.S. Investigative Services to provide back-office and administrative support for agency officials who perform background investigations on potential government employees and contractors.
The Office of Personnel Management tapped U.S. Investigative Services of Falls Church, Va., to provide back-office and administrative support for agency officials who perform background investigations on potential government employees and contractors.
The contract, if all option years are exercised, will run through Sept. 30, 2010, and has a maximum value of $260 million.
Under the deal, USIS will perform data entry services, maintain case files and screen investigative materials at OPM's Federal Investigations Processing Center in Boyers, Pa.
"I have every confidence USIS will provide outstanding support services to our investigations program," said Kathy Dillman, associate director of OPM's Federal Investigative Services.
The agency also awarded contracts to five firms that will assist the agency in performing the background checks.
Each contract contains a 15-month base and run through Sept. 30, 2007.
OPM granted the contracts to USIS, CACI International Corp. of Chantilly, Va., Kroll Government Services Inc. of New York, OMNIPLEX World Services Corp. of Chantilly, Va., and Systems Application & Technologies Inc. of Landover, Md.
