The Denver company said it has seen 147 percent compound annual growth over the past three years. Between fiscals 2000 and 2004, Merlin's government revenue increased from $193,900 to $88.25 million.
"This is an ideal time to capitalize on the growing public sector IT needs internationally, specifically in the European and Asia-Pacific markets, as well as respond to the growing interest in our services from the commercial sector," said David Phelps, Merlin's founder, CEO and president.
Merlin counts the Defense Department, Homeland Security Department and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration among its chief federal clients.
The company specializes in adapting commercial technology to the federal market. It concentrates on enterprise architecture, information lifecycle management, information assurance and infrastructure and systems modernization.
Merlin ranks No. 1 on Washington Technology's 2005 Fast 50 list of small businesses ranked by how rapidly their government revenues grew over the last five years.
